Going, going, gone...

Hasta la vista St. Vincent's! I was discharged this morning and I'm now resting comfortably at a Residence Inn.

Eyes are good enough to allow me some football viewing, but I'm trying to not overdo it. I have been able to walk pretty well. My hamstrings tighten up and stay that way for a while, but the pain seems to be less each day.

Hopefully we will have a video chat with our boys tonight. I tried to prepare the oldest by telling him "Your mom thinks I look a bit like Darth Vader when he has Luke take off his helmet.". That seemed to raise the "coolness factor" significantly.

And to my AN Forum friends, the magic scarf continues its domination of these pesky tumors. Let me know who is next on the list!

Until later - Dennis

  1. Hey Dennis, that's a really cool scar. Yours has a little downturn to it on the bottom that's unique. Your lucky that you have hair. I'll be sporting a big C scar for everyone to see.
If you can't find any takers for the scarf before the 16th then I'll take the burden of finding the next causality. Too bad it's not camo.
    Good to see you posting.

  3. Geezuz, hope you didn't try and watch the Lions, that would not be good for rehab....and that scar is way cooler than Darth Vader, kinda looks like a snake. Good to hear from ya...get better quick.

  5. Your scar is so cool! I've been showing it to my friends and family so they'll be oh-so-nice to me. Do you think it will buy me any mileage? I'm so glad Mike has dibs on the magic scarf. Real men CAN wear leopard! I'm wondering what happened to the journal that used to travel with the scarf?
Seriously, tho, Dennis, I'm so happy to read that you're on your way to recovery, and that you're doing as well as you are. I'm so encouraged by every post, so thanks for keeping us up to date!
